This 5-hour course is designed for Community Health Workers seeking continuing education credits or aiming to expand their professional impact in supporting older adults and addressing health disparities. Participants will explore key issues affecting the aging population, including trends in aging, the Five M’s of aging, and the impact of ageism and discrimination. The course also covers medical and non-medical providers serving older adults, living situations across the aging process, and resources such as Medicare. You’ll leave with practical tools, insights, and empathy to better serve older adults in your community and to support them in navigating health systems, living arrangements, and quality-of-life concerns.
