Starting Vegetable Seeds Indoors

Join the University of Maryland Extension (UME) Master Gardeners of Charles County Grow It Eat It Education Project to learn how to start vegetable and herb seeds indoors under grow lights. Topics include the advantages of starting seeds, selecting and sowing seeds, choosing growing media and containers, using the UME planting calendar, and caring for seedlings. Participants will also learn about grow light requirements and the minimal equipment needed to get started. This workshop features hands-on demonstrations, including building a PVC grow light stand from low- or no-cost materials, with time for questions and discussion.
