Intro to Screenwriting

Is your dream to become a screenwriter? Do you brainstorm script ideas but do not know what to do next? Then join us for Intro to Screenwriting and explore the fundamental principles and key concepts involved in writing a professional screenplay for a short film (25-30 pages). Topics that will be covered include techniques for generating ideas, screenplay structure and format, conflict, characterization, dialogue, and how to analyze your own work as a screenwriter. Learn how to write a logline, synopsis, treatment, plot outline, character development, and script. Class is designed for writers of every skill level and interest. When you finish with this course, you'll have already started writing your own script! Students will need one notebook, pen/pencils, and a flash drive to use during class. Students will need home access to MS Word.
