Mallows Bay is home to one of the nation's national marine sanctuaries, holding a collection of historic shipwrecks dating to the Civil War and archaeological artifacts nearly 12,000 years old. This longer kayaking excursion combines a relaxing paddle with the rich history of the waterway, led by a professional guide who provides instruction on kayak use and technique. All equipment is provided. The class meets at the boat ramp at Mallows Bay Park, 1440 Wilson Landing Road, Nanjemoy, Maryland, and cannot be dropped within one week of the start date.
