In this course, you will learn the foundational skills needed to confidently interpret and create engineering drawings. You’ll explore the core principles of engineering graphics & established drawing standards including orthographic projection, pictorial, assembly & section views. You’ll also learn key detail drawing conventions for annotating, dimensioning, tolerancing & fastener specification in technical drawings.
This course introduces both conventional hand-drafting craft & basic computer aided drafting (CAD) tools.
This class is ideal for those who are new to the language used in engineering graphics, exploring technical design fields, or looking to strengthen the drawing skills needed for further study in engineering or manufacturing.
Continuing education students will take this course alongside credit students enrolled in DFT-1200.
