Introduction to Makerspaces

The Introduction to Makerspaces course offers students an insight into the working of the Velocity Center Makerspace. This course aims to equip students with all of the qualifications to use every piece of equipment in the Makerspace. Students will also be made aware of the various software used by the makerspace. By the end of the course, students will be allowed to certify themselves to use the CNC router, the laser cutter, garment-making machines, and additional Makerspace equipment. This class is self-paced asynchronous online with an in-person lab component. After watching the video lectures and reading the manuals of the equipment, members will go to the Makerspace and, under the supervision of staff, will apply their knowledge of the equipment to become certified. 

Electronic soldering will not be taught.
