CDL Advanced Vehicle and Operational Skills

This course introduces the student to advanced driving skills through mountain driving, night driving, rural /urban driving, and intercity driving. The course introduces advanced vehicle skills operations on a closed course. The Federal Motor Carrier required entry-level driving training is included in this course: driver qualifications, hours of service, driver wellness, and whistleblower protection. Advanced operating practices further emphasize safe operating procedures and emergency maneuvers, railroad safety, trip planning, map reading, and driver fatigue.  Skills are taught/demonstrated on the simulator, range and road.
