Course number : HSC-9450    ID : 13462

« back to classes page
This 10-week intensive curriculum is designed to guide high school students through the mechanics of academic research using Institute for Excellence in Writing (IEW) principles. The course adapts IEW's Unit 6 (Summarizing Multiple References) and Unit 8 (Formal Essay Models) to teach source selection, citation, outline fusing, and structural draft assembly.

Because this class meets only once per week for one hour, the face-to-face lesson is highly structured to prioritize active instruction and live modeling. The rest of the week relies on independent, daily home assignments.
