In this course, you will learn the foundational skills needed to create professional 2D drawings using AutoCAD. You’ll practice essential drafting concepts, including constructing basic 2D objects, working with polylines, and applying effective techniques for editing and organizing your drawings.
You’ll learn how to manage object properties, use layers to streamline your workflow, and create accurate orthographic views in multiview drawings. The course also covers dimensioning, adding notes, plotting scaled drawings, and creating section views to clearly communicate technical information.
This class is ideal for those who are new to AutoCAD, beginning their drafting journey, or looking to build practical skills for engineering, architecture, or design-related fields.
Continuing Education students will take this course alongside credit students enrolled in DFT-1325.
