The Manufacturing Foundations Workforce Certificate is awarded to students who successfully complete the following three noncredit courses:

Manufacturing Foundations: Safety and Quality (TCH-8030)
Manufacturing Foundations: Inspection and Assembly (TCH-8040)
Manufacturing Foundations: Manufacturing Technologies (TCH-8050)

This certificate provides learners with foundational knowledge and practical skills in modern manufacturing, including workplace safety, quality systems, inspection and measurement, assembly processes, engineering drawings and blueprints reading, CNC machining, robotics, additive manufacturing, and smart manufacturing concepts. The curriculum is designed to prepare individuals for entry-level careers in manufacturing and to support readiness for the nationally recognized SME Certified Manufacturing Associate (CMfgA) certification examination. Upon successful completion of the required courses, students earn a College of Southern Maryland Manufacturing Foundations Workforce Certificate.
