This series of three courses will prepare individuals aspiring to work in sustainable agriculture and controlled environment agriculture to enter the rapidly growing field. Students will learn the basics of plant science and the requirements to operate a controlled environment agriculture system. Students will also receive hands-on experience in the CSM Vertical Agriculture Lab and with a sustainable agriculture partner in Southern Maryland.

Please note: In this program, you will be exposed to the inherent risks associated with agricultural activities. These risks include, but are not limited to, exposure to a warm and humid working environment, subject to the outside elements, climbing up and down ladders, lifting heavy objects, and completing tasks with repetitive motions. These working environments and tasks can cause physical exertion. Please be mindful of any circumstances that could prevent you from working in these conditions or completing these tasks. Thank you.
