Select classes provide foundational knowledge and skills that support entry-level manufacturing careers and preparation for industry-recognized certifications. The Manufacturing Foundations Workforce Certificate offers a structured pathway in manufacturing safety, quality, inspection and measurement, assembly, engineering drawings and blueprint reading, manufacturing technologies, and smart manufacturing concepts. The curriculum also supports preparation for the nationally recognized SME Certified Manufacturing Associate (CMfgA) certification examination.
Not all classes in this category are part of the Manufacturing Foundations Workforce Certificate or designed to prepare students for a certification examination.
Students who successfully complete the following three noncredit courses earn the College of Southern Maryland Manufacturing Foundations Workforce Certificate:
> TCH-8030 MANUFACTURING FOUNDATIONS: SAFETY AND QUALITY
> TCH-8040 MANUFACTURING FOUNDATIONS: INSPECTION AND ASSEMBLY
> TCH-8050 MANUFACTURING FOUNDATIONS: MANUFACTURING TECHNOLOGIES
