Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) play a vital role in patient care, supporting healthcare teams by assisting with feeding, dressing, grooming, and mobility under nursing supervision.
To earn this workforce training certificate, complete the following courses:
> HTH-6260 Nursing Assistant Fundamentals
> HTH-6280 Nursing Assistant Practice
Completing both courses fulfills the training requirement to sit for the Maryland Nurse Aide Competency Exam, which includes written (or oral) and skills components. Successful candidates may apply for CNA I certification through the Maryland Board of Nursing.
Before Registering
1. Students must be 18 or older.
2. Completion of the Work Keys Assessment with a minimum score of 4-4-4 is required.
3. Background checks and health screenings are required; details provided on the first day.
4. Orientation is mandatory; 100% attendance required.
5. Budget $200–$300 for uniforms and board requirements.
6. Register for HTH-6260 and HTH-6280 together.
Scholarships and financial assistance may be available for eligible Continuing Education Workforce Training Certificates. Visit this page for details and how to apply.

Notice: COVID-19 and flu vaccines may be required by clinical partners. Other vaccines (Varicella, MMR, TDaP, HepB, etc.) are mandatory. Students who don't meet site requirements must withdraw.
