Participants are taught how to assist the dentist with procedures and provide patient care. Preparing the patient for treatment and providing patient education are described. Topics include dental terminology, disease transmission, disinfection and sterilization, CDC guidelines for personal protective equipment (PPE) and infection control, dental anatomy, dental records and charting, instrumentation, impressions and castings, radiation health and safety, insurance and billing, and front desk responsibilities. This course also provides x-ray training that qualifies you to sit for the Dental Assisting National Board (DANB) Radiation Health and Safety Certification Exam. Must be 18 years of age or older and in good health. Textbook required.
