Welding students will advance their skills in the SMAW process. Through lab instruction, emphasis will be placed on the student's ability to prepare material and perform welding of fillet and groove welds in carbon steel using E7018 electrodes in all positions. Practice is geared towards Structural Welding Code vertical (3G) and overhead (4G) tests. A certification test will also be administered within this course. Passing the certification tests (3G & 4G) provides an all position limited thickness AWS D1.1 welder certification. Intermediate welding kit included.
