Do you know how to prepare a patient for a basic office examination by the doctor? How about scheduling patients for office appointments? This course will present the fundamental concepts and skills needed to become a clinical medical assistant. You will role-play with other students in a simulated medical office. Skills included are administrative office functions, communication, medical records, billing, coding and insurance, patient assessment, vital signs, CDC guidelines for personal protective equipment (PPE) and infection control, and much more. Class must be taken with HTH-5330.
