Counselor in Training

Being a summer counselor is rewarding on many levels but comes with a great deal of responsibility. If you enjoy working with children and are 15 -17 years old, then this is the training program you've been waiting for! This course is designed to enable you to learn about leadership styles, principles, and the skills required to supervise a group of young students. You will be partnered with experienced counselors to learn the necessary skills to become a leader while having fun in the process. Valuable experience will be gained for future employment opportunities. All CIT's will develop a leadership plan, receive certification in CPR and First Aid, and receive a certificate of completion in leadership concepts. This course is an eight-week program. Please call for interview BEFORE registering at 301-934-7645. All interviews must be conducted at least two weeks before session is to start to be considered. Summer Counselor in Training t-shirts are included. Students will receive a letter with documented community service hours.
