The course introduces the student to the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations and industry standards required for operating commercial motor vehicles hauling interstate commerce. The student is introduced to the required areas of study to obtain a commercial Class A learner's permit: General knowledge, air brakes, and combination vehicles. Additional areas of study will be: double and triples, tankers, and hazardous materials.

CDL Student Expectations, 2. Student Drug and Alcohol Regulations and CDL Waiver and Release of Liability Students should work on completing DOT physical and earning CDL Learner's permit during this time period.
