Designed for individuals who are considering a career in information technology (IT) or for those who work in an allied field that requires a broad understanding of IT.

The skill and knowledge areas covered include core hardware components, peripherals and connectors, operating systems, common software applications and management best practices, networking technologies and wireless routers, mobile devices, security threats and best practices, workstation configuration, computer support and backups, and environmental and safety concepts.

Successful completion of this course will prepare the student to sit for the CompTIA IT Fundamentals+ certification exam. Earning this certification can be a steppingstone to more advanced certifications such as CompTIA A+, and, with specialized experience, CompTIA Network+ and Security+.

To complete the IT Support Technician workforce training certificate, you must complete the following courses:
  • CIT-5010 IT Fundamentals
  • CIT-5020 A+ Exam Prep
