Dental assistants handle a diverse range of patient care, office tasks, and lab responsibilities. In their patient care role, they prioritize patient comfort in the dental chair, readying them for treatments and securing dental records. They assist dentists by providing instruments and materials, ensuring sterilization and disinfection, setting up trays for procedures, and guiding patients on postoperative and overall oral care. Beyond this role, with additional training, students can advance to become Registered Dental Hygienists, specializing in teeth cleaning and oral examinations.
