Become eligible to take the Motor Vehicle Administration Commercial Vehicle License Class B skills test and the CDL passenger / school bus MVA exam.

This program includes both classroom instruction and practical experience behind the wheel, on a private training range, and on public streets and highways. Training includes vehicle inspections on school buses, operating a vehicle with passengers, defensive driving certification, railroad and safety belt training, logbooks, hours of service regulations, map reading and trip planning, skills in backing, off-set alley, parallel parking, skid control and recovery, winter driving, accident procedures, road rage, construction zones, and work safety. Training concludes with students having three attempts to pass the CDL passenger / school bus MVA exam.
For certification eligibility, students must complete the designated courses.

If you are interested in applying to our CDL program, when you register for orientation please upload an official copy of your driving record of good standing for the most current three years (must be less than 90 days old relative to the orientation date). For more information email cdl@csmd.edu.

Students must upload their driving record to register for the free CDL B Orientation. Students will be given additional information at the orientation on requirements needed to complete the program. Students must have a valid Maryland, Virginia, or DC CDL Class B learner’s permit to register for the in-person (TRA-7660 and TRA-7670) courses of the Class B program.
