Through a series of three courses, you’ll gain foundational knowledge in plant science and hands-on experience in our state-of-the-art Vertical Agriculture Lab. Whether you're new to the field or looking to expand your expertise, this program equips you with the skills needed to thrive in the rapidly growing industry of controlled environment agriculture.
Residents of Charles, St. Mary's, and Calvert counties may qualify for scholarship funds (Tri-County Council Rural MD Grant) to cover tuition and fees for this program. To access these funds, follow these steps:
- Obtain your log in credentials to this site by clicking login/create account under the CSM logo in the upper left corner and completing the instructions.
- Contact Frances Raynes in Financial Aid at fbraynes@csmd.edu to apply the funds to your account.
- Register for your courses.
To complete this workforce training certificate, you must complete the following courses:
> OCC-7010 INTRODUCTION TO PLANT SCIENCE
> OCC-7020 AGRICULTURE SYSTEMS OPERATIONS
> OCC-7030 VERTICAL AGRICULTURE PRACTICUM
