Students in this continuing education certificate program learn the basic skills necessary to become employed as a Phlebotomy Technician.  They will learn about collection, preparation and transportation of blood samples using asceptic techniques and procedures.  They will gain understanding of patient safety, basic anatomy, infection control, patient preparation and ethical considerations associated with venipuncture. This certificate has required hours that meet in person as well as asynchronous/online. In person and online requirements are both mandatory.

Students need to take HTH-5000 INTRODUCTION TO HEALTHCARE before registering for the rest of this certfiicate.  Students must register for HTH-7100 PHLEBOTOMY TECHNICIAN TRAINING and HTH-7120 PHLEBOTOMY TECHNICIAN PRACTICUM in one transaction.
