Join instructor Taylor McNulty from the GEaRS (Global Education and Research Services) team to get ready to dive into a bright and colorful adventure! In Color Wheel Explorers, young artists will discover the magic of colors through hands-on art activities and playful experimentation.
Throughout this class, students will explore the color wheel, learning about primary, secondary, and a few surprise colors along the way! We'll mix paints to create new shades, discover how colors work together, and learn fun ways to make our artwork pop.
Students will also be introduced to the basics of shading—learning how to make colors lighter and darker using simple techniques. From creating sunny skies to shadowy shapes, children will begin to understand how artists bring depth and dimension to their work.
Each class will include a story, a demonstration, and a creative project where students can express themselves freely. Expect lots of painting, coloring, and experimenting in a supportive and joyful environment!
By the end of the course, students will:
- Understand the basic color wheel (primary & secondary colors)
- Practice color mixing and blending
- Explore light and dark through simple shading techniques
- Create unique, colorful works of art to take home
No prior art experience needed—just a love for color and creativity!
Please note: To ensure the best learning experience, activities may be modified depending on student needs, resources, or instructional planning.
