If you plan to travel to Germany or are just curious about the people and their country, then an understanding of the German language and customs is a must. This class will cover important information about transportation, costs and currency, important contacts and telephone numbers in emergencies, and accommodations. You will also learn about the various regions, travel itineraries, and a few "must see" destinations. Food and cuisine by region will also be discussed, including how to order food, shop for basic groceries, how to ask directions, and using public restrooms. Information about plugs and converters for electronics and phone service will also be shared. A brief examination of the geography, politics, economics, history, traditions, and religion will also be covered.
