Electricians install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures while ensuring that work is in accordance with relevant national electrical codes. Electricians may install or service streetlights, intercom systems, or electrical control systems.

Electrical Helper
Electrical Helpers learn to perform tasks supporting Electricians and do preparatory work for the installation and maintenance of electrical systems and equipment.

To complete the Electrical Helper Workforce Training Certificate you must complete the following courses:
  • TEC-9300 Construction Trades Core Skills
  • TEC-7860 Electricity I, Part 1
  • TEC-7870 Electricity I, Part 2
Electrical Technician
After completion of the Electrical Helper Workforce Training Certificate, you may continue your studies of the trade with our Electrical Technician Workforce Training Certificate.

To complete the Electrical Technician Workforce Training Certificate, you must complete the following courses:
  • TEC-7880 Electricity II, Part 1
  • TEC-7890 Electricity II, Part 2
  • TEC-7920 Electricity III, Part 1
  • TEC-7930 Electricity III, Part 2
  • TEC-7940 Electricity IV, Part 1
  • TEC-7950 Electricity IV, Part 2
If you are pursuing a journey-level license in HVAC you will need to complete an approved apprenticeship. Read this Important Note Regarding Apprenticeships.
