Notice: COVID-19 Vaccination Required for Clinical Placement
Clinical partners collaborating with the College of Southern Maryland (CSM) have mandated that all students participating in Nursing and Health programs must be vaccinated against COVID-19 for clinical placement. This vaccination requirement is crucial for student safety and to uphold the standards of healthcare settings.

Key Points:
  1. Mandatory Requirement: All Nursing and Health program students are required to be vaccinated to qualify for a clinical assignment.
  2. Consequences for Non-compliance: Students who opt not to get vaccinated will:
    > Lose their registration for clinical courses.
    > Possibly need to withdraw from their respective nursing or health program.
  3. Definition of 'Vaccinated': A student is considered 'vaccinated' if they have:
    > Received a single dose of the Johnson and Johnson vaccine (or any subsequent single-dose authorized vaccine).
    > Completed both doses of a 2-dose mRNA vaccine and any additional booster doses as recommended by CDC/ACIP.
  4. Documentation Process: Upon completing the vaccination, students must:
    > Upload their vaccination documentation to one of the nation's top ten compliance management and background screening firms.
  5. Guidance: Detailed instructions on the vaccination documentation process will be provided to students on the first day of classes.
CSM remains committed to ensuring a safe and conducive learning environment for all students, faculty, and staff.
