Adult Basic Education (ABE) and GED® Test Preparation Program

Sign Up for a FREE Orientation
Adult education classes are free for adults who are Maryland residents, aged 18 and older and are not required to be enrolled in high school. You must attend an orientation session prior to taking any class.

Adult basic education (ABE) courses prepare students to earn their high school diploma, improve reading and math skills, develop job readiness skills, or increase family literacy.

GED Preparation classes prepare students to pass the exam for the GED® test and to attain a Maryland high school diploma. Included are opportunities to take GED Ready® tests, practice using the GED calculator, and study targeted GED skills.

Adult Education offers in-person and online real-time technology classes. Eight-week sessions are offered for students to improve their skills or prepare for the GED® test. Classes are small, and learning is individualized to meet the needs of each student.
