The Maryland Adult National External Diploma Program (NEDP) is an online nationally recognized high school diploma option for adults, 18 and older. It is an alternative to the GED^® exam and is designed for adults who have developed high school-level skills through life and work experience. NEDP is a hybrid program that allows individuals to work virtually, face-to-face or a combination of the two.

Students participate in weekly one-on-one meetings with an advisor. Prior to program entry, attendance at an orientation and attainment of a qualifying score on the assessment are mandatory. The NEDP evaluates both academic and life skills through a combination of online, at-home assignments and in-center work. Upon completion, the diploma is conferred by the Maryland State Department of Education and is recognized by colleges and universities. However, some institutions may impose additional admission criteria for adult learners. There is a $100 fee to enroll in the NEDP program.

NEDP is offered at all CSM campuses. Assessments for NEDP entry can be scheduled when requested.

CURRENT STUDENTS IN THE PROGRAM: Do NOT register for ABE-5800 GED/NEDP Orientation if you are already in the adult education program. This is only for potential new students. Please register for your next assigned class.
